Job Description

The Environmental Program Coordinator is part of the Battle River Watershed Alliance (BRWA) team dedicated to enhancing stewardship and watershed literacy in communities in the Battle River and Sounding Creek watersheds. Reporting to the Education Lead, the Environmental Program Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the BRWA education, communications, and outreach programs, including community events.

The Environmental Program Coordinator will work with the Education Lead and program staff to:

  1. Assist in delivering education programs and presentations including:
  1. Assist with the content for communications documents such as: 
  1. Assist with planning and running special events such as:
  1. Other responsibilities:

(Activities may include webinars and outdoor activities as appropriate based on current public health measures.)

The position involves day travel to schools and outdoor sites within the Battle River and Sounding Creek watersheds. The Environmental Program Coordinator will be based in the BRWA Office in Camrose, Alberta and will be expected to work with educators, students, and other members of the community in both classroom and outdoor education settings.

 

Education/Certification/Experience:

Enrolled in and completed (or completing), at a minimum, the second year of a post secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Sciences, Education or a related field.

The BRWA will provide you with:

  1. Cloud-based team shared folder. File storage to be governed, with written agreement, by the BRWA information and privacy policy
  2. Workers Compensation Board coverage
  3. Training and coaching from staff and subject matter experts
  4. Health and safety workplace training, including standard operating procedures. Implement and document relevant public health measures.
  5. Support and supervision

 

Language Skills:

Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills in English
