"Quality Water, Quality Life" Workshop

Workshop Details:

Friday, March 1, 2013
Forestburg, AB (at the Forestburg Community Centre)

All are welcome!

The BRWA is currently exploring ways that we can all work to improve water quality in the Battle River and Sounding Creek watersheds through non-point source pollution management.

Join us to learn more and share your perspective on the draft water quality management recommendations that have been developed.

Also, hear from our guest speakers!

Chris Teichreb, limnologist and water quality specialist with Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development. Chris will discuss the recently developed draft water quality objectives for the Battle River watershed and next steps in developing strategies to meet these objectives.

Kristen Lorenz, groundwater specialist with Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development. Janna will discuss the results of various ARD studies related to agriculture and water quality, including the recently completed nutrient beneficial management practices study.

Perry Phillips, program coordinator for the Alberta Environmental Farm Plan. Perry will discuss the Environmental Farm Plan as a tool for environmental stewardship of Alberta's agricultural lands. He will also provide an update on Growing Forward 2.
