Wetlands, Trees and Forests

This is the 6th time that the Battle River Watershed Alliance has been part of hosting a Wetlands, Trees and Forests event.  Started by the Iron Creek Watershed Improvement Society, we have adopted this winning model for an environmental educational event and are now working with partners to bring this event to students across our watershed.  This September that is to Grade 4-6 students in Viking, Holden and Tofield.

Offered absolutely free to schools, we have invited nearly 200 students to spend a full day exploring the nature world around them through a series of stations hosted by local experts.  From amphibians and reptiles, to trees and riparian areas, these students will have an interactive, educational and fun day to remember!

We would like to thank our partner the Town of Viking-Rural Sustainability Demonstration Town Project as well as the program sponsor Cargill for all of the support.

If you are interested in volunteering at this event, or if you would like to have Wetlands Trees and Forests come to your community, please contact the BRWA Education and Outreach Coordinator Nathalie Stanley at Nathalie@battleriverwatershed.ca or by phone at 1-888-672-0276.
