Water Forums - Learning About Water Management
The Battle River Watershed Advisory Group (BRWAG) attended eight Water Management Forums, held monthly from March to October 2005.
In these forums, the advisory group learned about the Battle River watershed, how water is managed, and the various legal acts and policies that affect water management in Alberta.
The group also learned about who uses water from the Battle and how we all affect water quantity and quality in the river. In addition, they learned how fisheries and the health of the river have been affected by our activities.
At the end of the eight forums, BRWAG members will combine the information they’ve gained with their own local knowledge to make recommendations on how we can improve the health of the Battle River while balancing the water needs of residents, industry and agriculture.
